Vintage Tonet Bent Wood Chairs
These are confirmed authentic, stamped “THONET / NEW YORK” and bearing Thonet’s “Thonet Original” maker’s mark. Several retain their original factory Quality Control Inspection stickers, documenting the wood, lamination, and assembly stages — a wonderful and increasingly uncommon survival of mid-century American factory production.
The chairs carry institutional provenance, branded “A.&M.C. Dining Hall,” reflecting their original life as contract furniture in a club or dining hall. This is exactly the setting these durable, well-engineered Thonet chairs were built for, and it explains the matched quantity available.
