Katie Walker, a Greenville, South Carolina-based artist, earned her BA in Studio Art from Furman University and MFA from the University of Georgia. Her work has been featured in prominent exhibitions, including the South Carolina State Museum’s Abstract Art in South Carolina 1949–2012 and the 701 CCA South Carolina Biennials in 2011 and 2015. She has also exhibited internationally, receiving recognition at the 2005 Florence Biennale in Italy. Her abstract paintings explore themes of memory and place, blending personal experiences, imagined scenarios, and evolving perspectives into expressionistic “map-making.”
